Certifiable Safety over EtherCat (FSoE)

Join acontis, ISIT, and SYSGO for our joint webcast showcasing how cutting-edge technologies come together to deliver certifiable functional safety over EtherCAT (FSoE).

In this session, we will introduce our respective solutions and present a live FSoE demonstrator based on the NXP i.MX8MP hardware platform—a setup designed to highlight both real-time performance and portability across embedded environments.

The demonstrator integrates:

• acontis' ECMaster Stack running in a Linux guest, enabled through hardware virtualization
• ISIT's FSoE Stack operating within a real-time PikeOS native partition, certifiable up to SIL4
• SYSGO's PikeOS RTOS & Hypervirsor, ensuring safe partitioning and a black-channel approach for functional safety

Through inter-process communication, the FSoE layer is built on top of the EtherCAT stack, with drivers hosted in user space—showcasing the flexibility and modularity of the architecture.
